What is Screen Slam?

Who are the most talented student filmmakers in Kentucky? SCREEN SLAM is on a mission to discover them!

Presented by Bluegrass Film Friends in partnership with The Kentucky Theatre, SCREEN SLAM is a brand-new film festival exclusively for Kentucky high school students.

Selected films will be showcased at the iconic Kentucky Theatre on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. Winners will not only receive a cash prize but will also earn a fee waiver for the Twelve Lions Film Festival, The Kentucky Theatre’s prestigious international film competition.

And of course, the winners will claim the ultimate title—Kentucky’s Best Student Filmmakers!
